The Dresden Mozart-Verein (est. 1896)

WELCOME TO THE MOZART-VEREIN DRESDEN!

We are delighted to welcome you: in 2026 we are celebrating our 130th anniversary. As one of Saxony’s oldest amateur orchestras, our ensemble has been based in Dresden since 1896 and played a significant role shaping the city’s cultural landscape, particularly in its early years.
Then as now, our aim is to make the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his contemporaries accessible to a wide audience and to bring to life interesting facts about his music. Naturally, our repertoire also includes compositions from other epochs.
The promotion of musical talent is also a matter of heart to us. Therefore we regularly give young soloists the opportunity to gain valuable concert experience playing with an orchestra. Our ensemble currently has around 40 active members – people from different generations with very diverse personal and professional backgrounds, united by the shared love of music. We are also grateful to our supporting members, whom we would like to thank warmly for their loyalty and support.
If you are interested in joining our orchestra or would like to support our work as a sponsor, we will be delighted to hear from you and welcome you at any time! Please feel free to speak to us after a concert or come and visit us during a rehearsal. You can also get in touch via our website at any time. We would like to thank you very much for your interest and support.
